Sophy was a very dear teacher and friend.

I met Sophy at a B.K.S.Iyengar London certificate assessment in 1982-she then attended many of Victor and Angela’s yoga days in Hampshire and West Sussex.

I remember a telephone conversation around 1990 when she told me that she had been invited to go to Italy to be taught by Vanda Scaravelli. When she returned she said Vanda Scaravelli’s teaching was just what she had been looking for, she went regularly to Vanda and worked for many years with Diane Long.

From then on I went regularly to her classes and for one to one in London and invited her many times to teach for Inner Yoga in Hampshire, we would then go to the pub for lunch -she then visited her Mother, who was in a home in Rogate.

Her teaching was so subtle yet strong and firm as were her adjustments. Her kindness and integrity were a very dear aspect of her teaching.

All of us who experienced that teaching were transformed and uplifted by her.

I miss her and her teaching very much.

She is now thankfully released from a debilitating disease and can fly.
